D系列红外测温仪使用双色比值技术测量目标的温度，是高精度光学、光纤型单双色温度传感器。双色比值技术摆脱了对绝对能量测量的依赖，在下列条件下可进行有效的测量：目标被部分遮挡，被测目标小于测温仪测量视场。

双色模式特别适用于测量局部被遮挡的目标，无论是断续的，还是一直如此。如存在其他物体的遮挡、开孔、狭缝、观察窗对能量的衰减，以及大气中灰尘、烟雾、水气的影响。
